AP govt launches mobile app as one-stop solution for industrialists

Visakhapatnam: The State Government on Monday formally released the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Development Policy (IDP) for 2023-27 and launched a mobile app and web portal under the name of YSR AP One to offer a one-stop resource and support programme for the entrepreneurs.
The head office of YSR AP One, a multi-faceted business enablement platform, is expected to redefine and give utmost focus on end-to-end handholding support to the investors and offer the services of all departments concerned for clearances, will be established in Visakhapatnam. Sub-centres will be located at all the District Industrial Centres.
The mobile app and web portal are designed to offer entrepreneurship facilitation services, market research and branding, sales and scheme support, MSME revitalisation, investor reachout and incentive management.
Taking part in the programme as the chief guest, Industries and Commerce Minister Gudivada Amarnath said for the first time, the government has included land allotment under the single window clearance within 21 days to encourage launching of projects on a fast-track mode and help the project proponents to reduce the gestation period after signing MoUs.
Giving credit to the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for putting in place the new policy with operating guidelines in place before the expiry of the old industrial policy, he said they are keen to facilitate grounding of projects by providing three lakh acres for the new industries. The government has already created a land bank of 48,000 acres abutting the three industrial corridors passing through the State.
He said due to proactive policies, spot approvals will be given in case of clearances needing scrutiny of basic documents are delayed. In case of white category industries, the system will automatically generate approval, which is treated as Consent for Establishment to commence the activity.
The Minister said with success in attracting MoUs envisaging an investment of over Rs 8 lakh crore out of Rs 13.5 lakh crore worth proposals received at the Global Investors’ Summit (GIS), Andhra Pradesh will soon emerge as the renewable energy capital of India. He said NTPC has come forward to establish a green energy park near Anakapalle at a cost of Rs 1.10 lakh crore.
An iconic tower will be built in Visakhapatnam to strengthen the startup and innovation ecosystem. He said the government has also designed the industrial policy in such a way to ensure handholding of MSMEs and startups to create more employment opportunities. The government has already identified focus areas to promote port-led industrial development in a big way, he said adding the new policy has given industries status to the logistics sector and spelt out its stand to encourage private industrial parks following the success of Sri City.
He said the government is firm on developing private industrial parks to replicate the success of DP World in setting up industrial areas, free trade zones and special economic zones.
While Sravan Shipping Services Managing Director G Sambasiva Rao hailed the decision to promote private industrial parks and give industries status to logistics, CII AP vice-chairman G Muralikrishna said the policy has several welcome features.
Special Chief Secretary, Industries Karikal Valavan said under the three industrial corridors, five nodes under implementation and work on another five will be taken up soon. He said the new industrial policy has been finalised by taking the stakeholders into confidence following the ranking of AP for a record time as No. 1 State in Ease of Doing Business.
Director of Industries G Srijana said R&D, MSMEs and export promotion have been a lot of importance in the new policy. She said they have decided to offer more plug and play facilities to boost startup culture across the State.
